Hi, I’m MarĆa MuƱoz.

Life often teaches us profound lessons when we least expect it. After facing burnout, grief, and health challenges, I found myself standing at a crossroads.

It was in that challenging moment that I began a transformative journey, reshaping my understanding of healing and growth.

Through introspection and time spent in nature and farming, I found ongoing healing. I learned firsthand how trauma affects the body and discovered the profound ways in which nature, mindfulness, and the mind-body connection can support true recovery.

I have a Master’s in International Education from the Teachers College at Columbia University and a certification in Mindfulness-Based Stress Reduction (MBSR) from Brown University. My career spans education in schools, DEI, and corporate roles at companies like Better, Vice, and The Social Hub. I’ve also served on the Board of Directors for a charter school in NYC and contributed to educational initiatives for refugee students at UNRWA in Beirut. I’m studying Traumatic Stress Studies to better understand trauma-informed care which recognizes how trauma affects both the mind and body, and emphasizes creating safe, supportive environments for healing and recovery.

As my career evolved, I felt a deep calling to healing through nature, leading me to Turkey, Scotland, and Wales, where I immersed myself in therapy farming and regenerative agriculture. I completed a Farm Design course at Henbant Permaculture Farm with Richard Perkins, where I learned how regenerative agriculture plays a crucial role in creating healing spaces. This approach not only nurtures the land but also fosters emotional and physical well-being by reconnecting people with nature. I’ve since worked at therapy farms in the Netherlands and Spain, supporting children and young adults with disabilities, including autism. Through horse therapy, gardening, and art-based modalities, I’ve learned how to help people be present. This work has brought me lots of fulfillment and joy.

Originally from Guayaquil, Ecuador and New York City, I’m fluent in Spanish, Portuguese, and English, and now live in Amsterdam.
